Maurizio Cortese

Maurizio Cortese is an experienced and active principal and investor across multiple asset classes. 

Over the last decade, Maurizio has managed Kleos Investments as well as its predecessor entities. Previously, Maurizio was a Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager of the Trident European Fund, a €1.2bn fundamental equity long short hedge fund, which was part of JO Hambro Capital Management and a top quartile fund over its 10 year existence. Before that, he was a founding analyst of Holte Capital, a $300m special situations fund. 

Maurizio has extensive private equity experience and corporate finance experience, having served as a Senior Associate for the Carlyle Group in London from 1999 to 2002, and as part of Salomon Brothers M&A group in New York City in the late 1990's. Educated in the US, Italy, France and Germany, Maurizio speaks English, Italian, German and French. He holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD and an B.A. with honors in Economics from Harvard University, where he was also a John Harvard Scholar.
